Why do you require CLEAN sneakers, dance shoes or bare feet in the gym?

We are unique that we offer a Performing Arts program (dance, baton twirling) in addition to sports (cheer, gymnastics, martial arts) where bare feet are
required.  We do not want to take any chance that glass, rocks, gum etc would harm or damage any child in our center.  Our tuition rates are based on
expense, so keep in mind that if the center is abused and needs increase of maintenance fees for cleaning, it is passed down in your tuition.  We take pride
in having one of the cleanest facilities anywhere and to prevent toxic chemicals for cleaning or extermination for pests, we only ask that
IF YOU NEED TO
WEAR CHEER OR TUMBLING SHOES THAT HAVE BEEN WORN  OUTDOORS INTO THE CENTER - WASH THE BOTTOMS IF THEY HAVE BEEN WORN
OUTSIDE!!!
We appreciate your attention to this safety and cleanliness issue to keep your costs down due to repair and maintenance.

Why only water permitted inside the work area of the center?

Warehouses are easily accessed by ants, bugs and rodents.  Exterminating requires poison that we do not want to expose bare feet and bodies to. Your
tuition would have to increase to cover extermination costs.  When we keep ONLY WATER in the work area of the center we do not have a problem with any
of these which keeps our footprint as green as possible but more cost effective in keeping your tuition down due to repair and maintenance.

Why do you have locked doors into the Center/Class area and why aren't parents/siblings allowed into the Center/Class area?

To keep your tuition rates as low as possible, our insurance policy requires that ONLY currently registered students be allowed outside of the lobby into the
center area.  We made the decision to add a viewing window and door openings to keep your tuition rates as low as possible.  The same requirements do not
allow siblings to play on equipment or anything when in the center.  Viewing only!  Once a month we are allowed to have parent viewing week but ask that
small children than can not sit to view watch from the lobby area.   We keep our center locked to entry to prevent unauthorized entry.  Parents can feel safe
leaving their children in the center knowing that there will not be opportunity for anyone to be in the environment of your precious children without your
permission.

Do you pro-rate if we join in the middle of a month?

Cash, credit card or check payments are accepted for mid month or Pay By The Class.  You  may choose to sign for auto draft from a credit card (the least
expensive monthly fee with a 2 month minimum) or continue to pay monthly.  See our registration form for details.  Month to Month payment and Pay By The
Class students MUST BE PAID PRIOR TO ENTERING the first class of the month.  Unfortunately, students will not be allowed to participate in class and will
exit to the lobby if account or class is unpaid.  Thank you for your prompt attention to your tuition to alleviate such situations for your children.

Do you accept credit cards or automatic bank drafting?

Yes, we currently accept Debit Cards, Master Card, Discover and VISA.  We have an automatic draft from credit or debit card payment plan with a 2 month
minimum.
If you prefer, to pay cash by the month, it is available but all due amounts must be paid IN ADVANCE prior to entering classes.  For those who
sign for auto draft and need to cancel prior to the end date (after the 2 month minimum is met), a $20 cancellation fee will be charged by our contract
banking services but will be able to cancel the auto draft with 30 day written notice.

What is the difference between Skilled Based Tumbling and Gymnastics?

Skill Based Tumbling is geared toward power tumbling or floor tumbling only.  Such skills are needed for cheerleading, power tumbling and
acrobatic dance.  Gymnastics incorporates apparatus: beam, bars, vault as well as floor tumbling.

What is acrobatics?

Acrobatics is a type of tumbling combined with controlled contortion moves.  SFAC has combined several syllabus into one for our syllabus.  The, Acrobatic,
Gymnastics and Floor Tumbling skills are used in our Cheerleading and Acrobatic  dance competition routines each year.

Do you ever add classes throughout the year?

Yes, typically we will have a sign-up and once we have a sufficient need and interest, we will add a class.    Particularly in August through January
when children are getting back into school, choosing their hobbies, or finishing fall sports.

What syllabus do preschoolers learn?

Preschoolers get to learn 1/2 hour of coordination development, gross motor skills incorporated into songs and tapping then 1/2 hour of gymnastics.

Can I register on-line?

We ask that you simply print the form from the website page, complete it and bring it in to our secretary.

What is your policy for holidays and inclement weather?

We are closed on all holidays reflected on the Union County Schools Public School Calendar (traditional), not teacher workdays.   Click on the "HOLIDAY"
button on our home page and it will take you to the holiday dates we are closed.  We will also post the holidays for the upcoming month in our monthly
newsletter.  A reminder will be posted on the door.  We do not charge extra for the months with 5 weeks, so it evens out holiday months.  We follow the Union
County Public Schools closings for inclement weather.  If they close early or do not attend, then SFAC will do so as well.  The secretary will be happy to help
you with any questions, just ask!

If my child decides that they do not like the class they are enrolled for, are they able to change to a different class?

Yes!  Email or phone our secretary and she will help you with the changes.  As always if you are already at the center, don't hesitate to ask but keep in mind
that our secretary is very busy, so please allow 24 hour business hours for a response from email or phone messages.

If my child decides that they would like to withdraw, am I able to mid year?

Yes!  As long as you withdraw in writing 30 days in advance.  You may withdraw at any time.  A re-registration fee will apply if your
child chooses to return to classes.  Auto draft can be cancelled with 30 days notice.  If you registered for more than 2 months, the contract bank will charge a
$20 fee for early cancellation of your contract.

Is your recital/end of the year show mandatory?

No!  It is optional and will always stay that way.  We also provide attire/costumes/leotards that can be re-worn to class in the future which
alleviates the expensive costume problems of larger studios.  The expense is very low in comparison.  Prices range from $20 to $80 for the
recreational student.  Competition team pricing will be posted on the "Team" web pages.
