Ms. Katherine
Ballet Specialist

Katherine is a 2007 Magna Cum Laude Graduate of Elon University where she double majored in Business Administration and
Dance and was a Leadership Fellow.  She completed her Masters in Business at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte
with a concentration in Real Estate Finance and Development.  Katherine now works at The Moser Group, Inc., a commercial real
estate group, in Indian Trail, NC.  She is a spokesperson for the National Scoliosis Foundation and a member of the Jr League
of Charlotte.  Katherine has been trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, and pointe and has danced for over 23 years. She
has trained with the Atlanta Ballet, Kirov Ballet, and Joffrey Ballet during their summer intensive programs.  Katherine is ballet
trained in the Royal Academy School of Dance method as well as the Cecchetti method.
Katherine has held titles including: Miss Mecklenburg County 2005, Miss Mount Holly 2007, Miss Raleigh 2008. Katherine was
Miss North Carolina 2009, where she won a talent preliminary award. She  went on to compete in the Miss America Pageant.

Mrs. Maresa
Owner/Director
Head Tumbling Coach/Dance Instructor

Mrs. Maresa was the gymnastics director (1986-2001) for a top ranked team. Former member  NC Dance Alliance, Dance Masters, US Trampoline
and Tumbling, USA Gymnastics.

Dance Central, CPCC student in Modern and Ballet.

1990 Conover YMCA gymnastics instructor.

Mrs. Maresa was chosen as a sophomores on Varsity Cheer Squad for her high school where she choreographed dance routines and stunting for the
squads.  She was the only advanced tumbler on the team.  She choreographed 3 high stunts, dance routines and pyramids combining JV & Varsity
teams for pep rallies.

Dance and acrobatic training began at age 8 in Sanford NC.  

Her main objective is the provide a high quality of dance education at an affordable price.
Miss Kim
Dance

Miss Kim holds a Dance Minor from UNC-Charlotte and is a former member of the Gold Duster Collegiate Dance Team at UNCC.

Former employee of Showstopper American Dance Championship and Universal Cheerleading Association.

Highest scoring choreographer of SFAC's 2010 competition team and high overall awards at competition.

Mr. Mike, who happily admits to be Mrs. Maresa's better half, has been a Gymnastics instructor since 2001.  

He sports a Blue Belt in Chun Kuk Do and has a Mathematical Science degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. Mr. Mike also
serves as co-manager at SFACand at competitions and is accounts manager for SFAC accounts..

He is a Systems Analyst for BCBS of NC for 20+ years.

Coach Mandi
Cheer

Coach Mandi brings with her extensive experience.  She put on her first dance shoes at the age of three and picked-up her first set of
pom-poms at the age of eight.  Ever since, she has built an impressive Cheerleading background.  Coach Mandi naturally cheered
from elementary through high school as well as danced.  Unlike others, she cheered on Varsity all four years, and was named
Captain in both her Junior as well as Senior years.  University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth,  she was again named Captain in her
Junior and Senior years.  In 1999 and 2001, they were the NCA's National Champions!  

Currently, Coach Mandi happily is an Elementary School teacher.  She has been teaching for six years.  She is also a delegation
leader for a student ambassador program in which she travels with high school students in the summers to different areas around
the world.
 
Miss Cameron
Skill Based Tumbling, Cheerleading, Gymnastics and Dance, Secretary in training
Miss Cameron is a former UNCC Gold Duster dance team member, competitive dancer, all star competitive
cheerleader & high school cheerleader.  She has been chosen for many scholarships for across the U.S. during her
20+ years of training including, Paula Abdul's Company Dance, The Broadway Experience, I Love Dance Sweetheart
in Los Angeles multiple times, University of Nevada Las Vegas, Dance Educators of America Scholarship recipient
twice, Winner of "Dance Off Jam Fest" Columbia SC.

Current Competitive cheer team and dance team consultant for SFAC.  Secretary in training.

Cameron has been a member of a competitive team in dance or cheer since age 5, each year having group, duet,
trios and solos routines achieving Top National Rankings in their category.

Competitive Cheerleader in Kernersville NC, level 6

Former Power House Tumbler team member.

Currently training with professional wrestling coaches and modeling.
Coach Rachel
Tumbling & Cheer
Coach Rachael was a former competitive gymnast who competed up to Level 9 in USA Gymnastics.  In 2001, she won the
title of Uneven Bar National Champion.  Unfortunately, shortly thereafter she was injured and switched to competitive
cheerleading, which became her favorite sport; next to gymnastics of course.  She walked onto the Small Co-ed
Cheerleading Team at UNC-Charlotte, which placed in the top three each year at the NCA Collegiate National
Championships each year she was a team member.  Rachael also earned the NCA Collegiate All-American title three
years in a row while competeing for UNC-Charlotte.  She now dedicates her time, energy, and enthusiasm to coaching
the next generation of gymnasts, tumblers, and cheerleaders.  Rachael has been coaching since age 14
Mrs. Zapka

Currently the PE Specialist at Sardis Elementary, Mrs. Zapka is National Board Certified and was chosen Teacher of the Year on
three separate occasions over her career.

Youngstown State University BA in Psychology and Physical Education (minors in Health and Coaching).  

1986 to present Union County Public School District.  She has taught at Unionville, Hemby Bridge, Fairview and New Salem
Elementary Schools as well as her current school, Sardis Elementary.
