SATURDAY WORKSHOP UPDATE:
congratulations to our dance and cheer teams for placing top awards at a
competition at carowinds !!!! Even though there was a monsoon sunday and it
was an outdoor competition, our outstanding kids and parents held their heads
high and rocked the house. sfac was awarded best tumbling of the day, most
entertaining routine of the day, and many other exciting rewards. what a great
way to end the season. thank you to all the supportive parents and family
members who came and toughed it out. we appreciate your support.
Congratulations to SFAC alumni Tyler McKenzie, who will be graduating from
Western North Carolina university with a musical theatre degree! Tyler has
accepted a position for a company that cast for theme parks, cruise ships &
industrials. His first performance will be at Idlewild Theme Park in PA to
total 3 shows for the summer. Afterward Tyler will be moving to NYC doing
industrial work for them while he is auditioning! Tyler has been auditioning
and has been called back several times on some of these parts which won't
start until fall. I have gone to see tyler perform at every summer program, at
several of his college shows and hope to make it to pa for the theme park
experience! we are proud of you tyler, break a leg!!! can't wait to see what is
around the corner for you :-)

the discus and 4th in the state for shot put in the national senior games. he
will be representing our state in ohio for the national senior games in July!!!
We will be holding FREE cheerleading evaluations/placement for cheer team May 19-
20th. We currently have 5 teams but will definitely be adding a 6th, a competitive
level 5 as well as other teams needed by levels!!! yay!!!! Email us for a competition

Then we start prepping for our June 2nd show. Our show is an informal celebration &
time for the kiddos to show off. We will be hosting a cookout for everyone afterward
of hotdogs and hamburgers & dessert. Recreational students will have the
opportunity to perform alongside the team kids. All families and students get to sit
front and center at the performing floor for high level tumbling, exciting stunting and
award winning performances! Ms. Phyllis will have a sign up sheet on the bulletin
board for you to order an optional end of the year trophy for your performer.
Deadline to order is May 20th. We will have instructor contests, parent
performances and a LOT of good family fun.
In August the rest of the teams will be formed for the 2013-2014 season. We
will wait to start choreography until after school try-outs so that athletes
can work out their schedules. SFAC accommodates the schedules so that kids
can choose to do SFAC team AND school team so they keep progressing here and
not have to miss out :-)
SFAC is yet unique again in that if you continue class during the summer months,
your tuition rate is locked in and will not go up! You will also not be charged a
registration fee in the fall. You will not have to commit to a certain day of tumbling.
We understand that kids are in and out due to vacation etc, just keep track of your
hours and attend the days of your choice for the amount of hours that you paid for
the month. Savings of up to $50!!! Summer brings a ton of fun and training
opportunities! SFAC was the first to hold themed day, summer fun camp, in addition
to our usual weekly classes - just enjoy a lot more options since it is summer! You
can choose to come to class when it is convenient, not be locked in to a set day. Our
fun camps allow you to Do a half day, a few days, a week or multiple weeks. Games,
theme days and experience all of our genres of dance, cheer, tumbling, gymnastics &
baton twirling. Summer camp dates: June 24-28th; July 15-19th; August 12-16th.
Summer will include guest teachers, workshops, never ending training and fun at
SFAC. Watch our website, we will have details posted as well as sign ups and info on

begin holding weekly classes Thursday and or Saturday after May 19th. Contact Ms.
Phyllis if you would like for her to email you the instructor contact info. Look it up
online, it is FUN!!!

, many instructors to help create well rounded training and find the right fit. Don't
hesitate to let our secretary know if you have a concern or need information. She will
then direct you to the proper person. As tempting as it is, please don't catch
instructors between classes or in the lobby. They are not scheduled for time between
classes and Ms. Phyllis is well equipped to help you with any situation that you may
need assistance with. This allows our instructors the right opportunity for them to
address your concerns if need be.
